Life 1.0 Until the end of the world - A jorney by motorcycle from Pole to pole

From 2005 to 2008 I made a journey through all inhabited latitudes in the world riding my Motorcycle, on an ambitious project project I Called “Until the end of the world”. My goal was to experience as much world diversity as possible, while visiting my top bucket list sites including iconic wonders, like the Amazon Jungle, the Sahara desert ,the vast Patagonia.

Obviously as a history aficionado I had to include ancient sites around the world, like Machu Picchu, Ankor Wat or Petra in Jordan. The resilience I gained from this experience and the memories I kept on my blog were crucial in dealing with my new after stroke reality . This is why I decided to rescue my Life 1.0 Until the end of the world Blog and include it in project Tamata website, my Life 2.0 project. Anyway riding a motorcycle to the spice Islands or to Easter Island it’s not a very smart idea anyway… But I still can sail my boat so its time to start my Life 2.0 project and this time go Beyond the end of the world…

Life 1.0 Until the end of the World

  • Pole to Pole Blog

The blog I maintained during my motorcycle journeys around the world has proven to be very helpful in recalling all the experiences I had during those travels. One of the first things we lose with a stroke is our memory, so reading my old blog allowed me to relive those travel experiences and reminded me of what I can achieve when I'm determined. Unfortunately, it is still only available in Portuguese, but I'm working on translating it into English.

  • Stop it's not an Option

It will be much more comfortable to stay home, watch TV, or chill on the sofa, but that was wasting the second chance received by surviving a traumatic event. When quitting is not an option, you don’t have to make a decision when facing a challenge. It’s already been decided that you’ll keep going until you reach your goal. And I still have goals to pursuit, I already ride to the ende of the world, Now beside my limitationsI want to sail beyond the end of the world, set my foot in Easter Island and smell the spice Islands, It’s time for Project Tamata, beyond the end of the world

  • Building The Right Mindset

We often concentrate on our problems, challenges, and obstacles, frequently overlooking our blessings. It is essential to cultivate a positive mindset and enhance the good aspects of our lives. Seeking inspiration from others can be beneficial. Ferdinand Magellan has always inspired me; I must admit my pride in Portugal's rich maritime heritage. Even before I become a sailor I folowed his path to the tip of South America and the straight it beres his name. While in hospital I found another inspiration, Bernard Moitessier, a pioneer of solo sailing and a great writer.
