My old boat Noah
Back in early 2018, my girlfriend and my best friend passed away, It was a tough year and a good friend told me I should really shake things up in my life. I ended up selling one of my adventure motorbikes and used the cash to buy a sailboat, which I'd always wanted. She was old and worn out in a boatyard in Seixal just south of Lisbon. She needed some work to recover her seaworthiness and her beauthy but I’m a resourceful kind of guy and I was never afraid of getting my hands dirty so I decided to make her my next project.
At the end of each day as soon I come out of work I went directly to the boatyard to work on her until I was exhausted. I arrived home tired but with no head to keep thinking in my grief. She helped me get back on my feet after my beloved girlfriend passed away.
After some big cleanibgs and paintjob
Water has been a constant presence in my life for as long as I can recall. Whether I was swimming, surfing, or diving, I always felt my best when I was in the water. My first summer job was in the local swimingpool and I was to it this time for hydrotherapy
she was worn out but strong and classy
What worried me the most was whether I could keep working, support myself, and stay independent, without being a burden to anyone because of my disability.
She gave me back my smile
If I pulled off the first couple of moves in my plan, I'd be all set to chase my ultimate dream: getting back to the ocean and hitting the waves again on my old boat, Noah.
