The Darian Gap
I had no other choice but to go back to Panama City and find another method of crossing this region in order to get to Colombia.Although my Spanish is basic, it's enough for me to have a conversation with locals and try to find a solution.
One of them told me about Puerto Bello, a small village on the Caribbean coast where some sailing boats take backpackers from Panama to Colombia. I made the choice to attempt it and within a few days, I came upon this bay that was surrounded by a tropical forest and old forts.
I found a hostel where some boat captains anchored in the bay enjoy drinking and chatting in the evenings.
