One man's loss is another man's gain
Captain Bob was one of the quietest in the bar that evening. Maria, a Garifuna woman working in the hostel, I chatted with in the morning had told me, he's one of the trustable captains coming regularly to the Hostel Bar, and he might be my chance to cross to Colombia in his boat.
Captain Bob
I asked her for two glasses of rum and invite Captain Bob to Drink with me
His mood was a bit low due to the theft of his tender outboard motor the night before, and he had to travel to Panama City to buy another one. Obviasly I offer my help and told him I was looking for a boat to cross to Colombia. He made clear his Catamaran was full for the next passage. However, if I genuinely wanted to assist him, I would see him at the village pontoon the following morning.
