The perfect outboard engine

I was fortunate enough to try out an ePropulsion eLite at Culatra anchorage, courtesy of Dave and Rose, who lent me their True Kit catamaran dinghy fitted with one of these. I was astonished by its efficiency, simplicity, and lightweight design.

I’m not overstating things; for me, this is the finest outboard on the market today. It's lightweight, manageable with just a single hand, and sufficient for those essential journeys by dinghy to the shore. Naturally, you could opt for greater power, enhanced speed, and increased autonomy, but that entails added weight, a higher price, and more complex operation.

Weighing merely six and a half kilograms and featuring a compact design, I can effortlessly place it in the dinghy's transom using only one hand.

Dave and Rose don't even require an outboard mount on their Amel. They effortlessly stow it away in one of the aft lockers where it remains secure and recharging for its next use.

As soon as my budget allows it I will definitely replace my old bulky Honda BF2.3hp for one of these. It will make my trips ashore much easier
